Post toward Forctis



Forctis asked me what do I think about atheism. Atheism is a religion of people who say there is no god or no high power whatsoever. And they also think that man is in control of their own destiny. There are many reasons why people choose atheism, Many reasons, scientific, philosophical, psychological, and historical ones.
The strongest reason is that there is more than enough historical evidence that all gods and religions are man made. I think that people find there way to whatever religion it is no matter it is. I'm not gonna criticize
anyone for whatever religion they choose because it doesn't matter what you choose. It's your life live it the
way you want.

    I'm nonreligious. There are good things and bad things about everything... I've seen many great religious people, and some not so great ones (mostly just people who aren't serious about their religion are the ones I don't respect as much..)

    I've recently had the misfortune of encountering a very religious girl who was quite devote (church every Sunday AND Wednesday evening plus all the church events she could get to) she believes very much to be a good person. she also tried to make me the other guy in her relationship with some one she claimed to love.

    I don't mind reasonable athiests. I know a few athiests and they're all great people. They know that I'm a Christian and they respect my beliefs and I respect theirs. We have discussions every once in a while about it and they're very reasonable and interesting discussions. I get annoyed when I see things like "Atheist here. Why would god allow baby rape in africa?" because stuff like that is the go to thing and when Christians try and explain it they don't tend to listen. When I see "Lol ur just a stupid christfag" it annoys me a bit.

    Why can't we all just get along?

    Im pretty much a christian and I really believe there is something bigger there. I dont really follow all those rules and I havent read the bible nor do I visit the church, but in everyday life I keep the most important stuff of christianity in my mind.

    The thing is humans think they always know everything when they actually know nothing. I'm not saying anything, but just an example: many years ago, if you said there were microorganisms, people would call you crazy, but just because there were no evidences it didn't mean the microorganisms didn't exist. Just because you don't have an evidence that shows you God exists, doesn't mean you have to say it doesn't.

    I wouldn't call atheism a religion. I am atheist because it is blatantly obvious that religions are born out of the neurological necessity of self preservation. We have progressed past that point, especially when you look at how far science has taken humanity.

    I agree with "live life how you want." I'm athiest for those reasons; I feel there os no higher being in this physical world. I may be wrong though, and we may never know, so it's hypocritical to shun down on others because their beliefs don't follow yours.

    I am one of those guys who thinks most atheists take it too far. Believe what you want, discuss it with others if you choose, but don't ever try to push non-religion, its as bad as any religious extremist.

    I am a catholic but i believe any religion is good as long as they teach their followers to be good people.

    I am a atheist, but agree with psychologypost. All religion is, is a way of life, and teachings on how to live your life. Even though that some bad things have been done in the name of religion, it was those peoples fault not religion in it self

    I'm completely non religious. The topic never came up when I was a kid. I knew some people went to church but I never did. I eventually came across the term atheist. I simply lack theology.
